Planning for the PD event is under way. The theme is "Future-proofing our services". Timeframes are:
      30 May Submissions for presentations OPEN
      31 Aug Submissions for presentations - extended CLOSE
      15 Sep Registrations OPEN
      19 Oct Registrations CLOSE
      28 Oct FNQ LIS Professional Development day

We are seeking interest from members for presentations in the following categories:
  • Future proofing library & information services sessions. 20 mins (15 min presentation with 5 mins questions)
  • Skills for the future session. 15 mins (10 min presentation with 5 mins questions)
  • Poster presentations
The PD event will be held at The Cairns Institute, James Cook University, Room D3.063. See Submission form for details.

Cairns Hospital LKC site visit and Bay Leaf Dinner 9th March 2016

Thanks to everyone who attended either the site visit and catch up at the Cairns Hospital Library & Knowledge Centre or the delicious dinner at Bay Leaf afterwards. Another successful and well attended event. Photos at BayLeaf.

PD Day 12th November 2014

Save the date! 12th November. A small committee has put together a half-day Professional Development opportunity for all FNQ librarians and information professionals. Speakers are coming from across library sectors in the region to talk about a range of topics.JCU has kindly provided us with a venue and all our speakers are volunteers. We're just requesting a gold coin donation to cover the costs of morning tea. Afterwards, there is an optional lunch planned at The Boathouse, on the university campus. Put it in your calendar and start talking to your colleagues and boss now! More information, including a program and lunch options, will be sent out shortly.
